The Association for Abandoned Animals released a series of horrific images after a dog arrived into their care, covered in what is suspected by razor burns.
The small dog who they named Rita was reportedly passed between several owners before finally arriving to the AAA.
The shelter explained how Rita needed medical care and medication to improve, and is finally doing “much better.”
The Association for Abandoned Animals highlighted the abuse underwent by this dog, and many others who end up in their care.
“So sad, how animals are being mistreated,” they emphasised.
Many in the comments expressed similar sentiments, sharing their outrage over Rita’s situation.
AAA promised to give updates about Rita as she continues to improve.
