Local School Yard Filled With Butterflies As They Migrate Over Malta

Gozo College Agius De Soldanis Middle School shared photos of various butterflies that made a stop at their little garden as they migrate over the Maltese Islands.
With the islands currently witnessing thousands of butterflies migrating from Africa to Europe, the college’s pollinator garden, created through the GLOBE Bloom and Buzz Project and the LEAF Programme, became a tiny stopover for the travelling insects.
‘While watering the plants, our Eco-Schools link teacher spotted several butterflies enjoying the space’, the college explained.
‘Even though our garden is small and surrounded by tall buildings, it’s clearly doing exactly what it was designed to do: attract pollinators and support biodiversity.’
