Two national records were presented in Ħamrun on Saturday evening as part of a surprise organised by the Kummissjoni Żgħażagħ Tamlin within the Għaqda tal-Mużika San Gejtanu A.D. 1906.

According to The Malta Records, the first record was for the largest painting on a traditional festa banner, measuring 5.50 metres high and 3.30 metres wide.

The achievement breaks previous records set during the feasts of Our Lady of Sorrows in St Paul’s Bay and the Sacred Heart in Sliema.

A second, entirely new national record was also established for the largest traditional banner used during a village or town feast.

The banner measures an impressive 12.80 metres in height and 9.75 metres in width, making it a striking addition to this year’s Ħamrun festivities.

The Malta Records presented the records to the Tamlin supporters, thanking them for their hospitality and wishing them a successful remainder of the feast.
