Local Photographer Captures Breathtaking Shot Of Milky Way Cver Dingli Cliffs

Local photographer Edward Magri took full advantage of the crystal-clear skies on the night of 19 June, capturing a breathtaking image of the Milky Way stretching across the sky above Dingli Cliffs.
Sharing the photograph on social media under the name ‘Ewi Photography,’ Magri reflected on the awe-inspiring sight, writing that views like these remind us that "we aren't just looking at space – we are part of this very galaxy."
The stunning image quickly caught the attention of social media users, with many praising both its beauty and the remarkable level of detail captured. The photograph showcases the galaxy arching over one of Malta's most iconic natural landmarks, creating a striking contrast between the rugged cliffs and the star-filled night sky.
Responding to questions from followers, Magri explained that the Milky Way can indeed be seen with the naked eye on clear, dark nights once your eyes have fully adjusted to the darkness. However, he noted that the human eye cannot perceive the same level of detail, colour and brightness as a long-exposure photograph.
