Local LGBTIQ+ Community In Solidarity Outside Türkiye Embassy After Crackdown

Members of the local LGBTIQ+ community demonstrated outside Malta’s Turkey embassy, calling out and condemning the recent crackdowns on the country’s LGBTIQ+ individuals, organisations and community spaces.
Allied Rainbow Communities (ARC) and Malta LGBTIQ Rights Movement (MGRM) stood outside the embassy, saying that LGBTIQ+ rights are human rights.
‘Being who you are is not a crime. Activism is not a crime. Love is not a crime.’
‘We stand in solidarity with everyone in Türkiye who continues to fight for equality, dignity, freedom of expression and the right to live openly and safely.’
