Local Hairstylist Vanusia Mifsud Brings Maltese Heritage To New York Fashion Week Debut

Maltese hairstylist and designer Vanusia Mifsud has brought Maltese culture and innovation to one of fashion’s biggest stages, making her New York Fashion Week debut with a collection created entirely from synthetic hair extensions.

Mifsud’s collection brought together craftsmanship, imagination and Maltese heritage, opening with a short film by Malta Fashion Week producer Adrian J. Mizzi that celebrated the island’s archaeology and artistic legacy.

Mifsud’s career began with an acclaimed debut at Malta Fashion Week in 2025, followed by another impressive presentation in 2026. Since then, she has become a 3-time Malta Fashion Awards winner who continues to put Maltese creativity on an international stage.
