Livin’ a Lie: OutBound’s Brand New Single

Maltese pop-rock band OutBound have released their latest single, Livin’ a Lie, an emotionally driven track that explores quiet suffering and the masks people wear to conceal their struggles.
Founded in 2022, the band is made up of Catherine Gatt (vocals), Steve Galea (guitars), Matthew Drago (bass) and Louie Farrugia (drums). With this release, the group shifts towards a more acoustic rock and folk-inspired sound, deliberately embracing a stripped-back arrangement to create a sense of openness and vulnerability. The band explained that this approach allows listeners to connect more intimately with the song’s raw and confessional narrative.
Accompanying the single is a striking black-and-white music video directed in collaboration with Edward DeGabriele and Fabian Attard. The storyline centres around preparations for a burial, symbolising the act of laying hidden “secrets” to rest. The video culminates in a powerful and liberating performance sequence, reflecting emotional release and closure.
Livin’ a Lie was produced by Chris Gatt and Edward Abela (Midnight), with mixing and mastering handled by Abela. The single and its music video are now available on all major streaming platforms.
