Lilu King Could Be Extradited From Malta After Libyan Request
Local

The Libyan Government has officially requested that Lilu King, full name Mohamed Ali Ahmed Elmushraty, be extradited back to Libya to face charges for murder and human trafficking.

Minister for Home Affairs and Security, Glenn Bedingfield, confirmed that Libyan authorities submitted their request back in September 2026, after Lilu King lost his Maltese refugee status.

Discussions between Libya and Malta have been ongoing for some time, as King also faces several criminal charges in Malta, including sexual abuse, organised crime, and money laundering.

Despite the formal request from Libya, the Maltese Government has not yet decided whether to send King back to Libya.
