Life Network Foundation Urges Political Parties To Declare Stance On Abortion And Euthanasia

Life Network Foundation has called on all political parties contesting Malta’s 2026 general election to publicly declare their position on abortion and voluntary assisted euthanasia ahead of polling day.

In a statement, the organisation said voters in Malta and Gozo have the right to know where parties stand on what it described as two “fundamental life issues” before casting their vote.

The foundation asked parties whether they intend to propose or support any legal changes introducing abortion or voluntary assisted euthanasia during the next legislature.

According to the organisation, all responses, as well as any failure to reply, will be published online as part of a transparency initiative aimed at helping voters make informed decisions.

Miriam Sciberras said the issues are central to the type of society Malta wishes to build, adding that the public deserves full clarity and democratic accountability from political parties ahead of the election.
