Keith Azzopardi Tanti, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research and Innovation, together with Miriam Teuma, Chief Executive Officer of Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, presented certificates to the first group of young people who completed the Life Hack pilot programme.

During the ceremony it was also announced that the initiative will expand significantly in the coming scholastic year. As part of a measure included in Malta Budget 2026, the programme will increase from three to six middle schools for the 2026 to 2027 academic year.

The expansion means the Life Hack programme will reach six schools across Malta and Gozo. Students in Year 7 and Year 8 will have the opportunity to take part in practical courses including Connected Minds, MoneyWise, Creative Spark and Take Action Through Photos. The courses are designed to help young people develop skills in areas such as digital wellbeing, financial awareness and creative thinking.

The certificates awarded to the first group of participants are accredited as Level 3 Awards by the Directorate for Quality and Standards in Education. This ensures that the non formal learning gained through the programme is officially recognised and becomes part of the students’ educational record.

Addressing the ceremony, Azzopardi Tanti said the success of the participants reflects the country’s belief in the potential of young people. He noted that the programme helps students develop social and digital skills that will support them throughout their lives.

Teuma said the initiative highlights the important role played by youth workers in delivering high quality non formal education. She added that the programme is closely aligned with national youth and education policies and has already received positive feedback from both students and parents.
