Lidl Returns to Full Stock as Deliveries Resume Across Malta

Lidl Malta have taken to social media to announce that their stock and shelves have returned back to normal, with deliveries back on schedule following temporary disruptions caused by last weekend’s adverse weather conditions.

The confirmation comes a day after Għaqda Bdiewa Attivi shared images on their Facebook, showing empty shelves in various grocery stores, highlighting the impact of delayed cargo deliveries.

In the same post. Għaqda Bdiewa Attivi warned of the wider implications of such reliance, stating that the disruptions showed “the repercussions of a country that heavily depends on imported product for their food.” The organisation added that just “some bad weather for a day or two” was enough to produce visible effects on store shelves.

Malta experienced several days of rain and strong winds, which understandably led to delays in cargo operations and affected the regular flow of imported goods.

Retailers have since confirmed that shelves are now fully stocked and deliveries have resumed as normal, reassuring consumers that the situation has stabilised. Customers were also thanked for their patience as operations returned to full capacity.
