Late Sharon Ellul Bonici To Be Given Farewell Tuesday

Sharon Ellul Bonici, former Labour candidate for the European Parliament, has passed away at the age of 55.
The news was shared by her brother, Parliamentary Secretary Andy Ellul, who paid tribute to her as “full of life and happiness,” adding that she had left this world too soon.
Tributes poured in from across the political spectrum.
Prime Minister Robert Abela remembered her as “a progressive voice who always battled the status quo,” and recalled the deep tragedy she faced with the loss of one of her sons five years ago.
Her early bid to run as a Labour MEP in 2004 was blocked, but she stood in 2009 with Labour’s endorsement, although she was not elected.
Married with three children, Ellul Bonici remained outspoken and committed throughout her political career.
Her funeral will be held tomorrow, Tuesday 2nd September, at Christ the King Basilica, Paola.
