Large Grass Fire Breaks Out In Ħal Farruġ, Luqa

The Civil Protection Department is currently responding to a large grass fire in Ħal Farruġ, Luqa.

30 firefighter, along with 12 fire appliances including fire pump and water carriers, are currently deployed trying to get the flames under control.

CPD have stated that at this stage, no injuries have been reported.

Firefighters are being consistently monitored by the Department’s in-house nursing team, together with a team from Mater Dei’s emergency department.

This is the fifth fire reported in the last two days across the island.
