Labour Proposes Free Breast Screening For Women Over 45 Years Old

Speaking during a special Mother’s Day event, wife of Prime Minister Robert Abela, Lydia Abela, announced a number of Labour Party proposals for the next general election.

Among them is a proposal that would offer women over 45 years old free breast screening, which aims at not only helping tackle a serious medical issue faced by many but also to break the stigma around it.

Lydia also announced an educational campaign aimed at breaking down stereotypes relating to child-raising, so as to educate people that raising a family is a joint effort by both sexes.

She also announced the first strategy relating to the health of women, which places them at the centre of healthcare and educating the public on all that is faced by women.
