Labour Party To Mark Worker’s Day With mass Valletta Event

The Labour Party will mark Workers’ Day on 1 May with a mass meeting in Castille Square, bringing together supporters for a celebration that blends politics, history, and entertainment. The announcement was made during a press conference addressed by Ian Borg and Alex Agius Saliba.
The event is set to begin at 4pm and will feature performances by leading local singers and musicians.
Proceedings will culminate in a keynote speech by Prime Minister and party leader Robert Abela. Ahead of the main gathering, the party band is also expected to animate the streets of Valletta.
This year’s celebration holds added significance as it marks one hundred years since the party first commemorated Workers’ Day in Malta. The inaugural event took place in Senglea and was led by dockyard worker John F. Marks.
Party officials described the occasion as a reflection of Labour’s identity as a workers’ movement, highlighting its efforts to improve working conditions, strengthen rights, and support pensioners.
This also comes as the Nationalist Party announce their own 1st of May event, amidst election announcement speculation.
