Labour Party Raise Concerns Over Current MP Code Of Ethics

In a statement released by the Labour Communications Party, concerns were raised over the Oppositions opposing “stricter declaration of assets and higher ethical standards for all Members of Parliament.”

They also referred to the fact that Opposition MPs are reportedly against declaring their income as proposed in the new amendments.

The Labour Party proceeded to state that the Code of Ethics for MPs must be strengthened, as they allege that the current Code of Ethics “does not oblige all MPs to tell the truth.”

They referred to a situation where the Commissioner for Standards in Public Life did not find Alex Borg guilty of lying and spreading false information, stating that the only reason for this is allegedly due to the current code of ethics.
