Prime Minister Robert Abela said that, for the first time, a Maltese political party is evaluating the impact of its measures not only in economic and financial terms, but also in wellbeing terms.

Overall, it is estimated that the implementation of the manifesto will lead to an improvement of more than 25% in the wellbeing of people in Malta and Gozo, said Abela.

The 10 key areas of the Wellbeing index include environment sustainability, quality of local environment, health, personal wellbeing, housing, social protection, civi participation & rights, income & wealth, education & skills and quality if work.

The Wellbeing Index is built on ten dimensions and twenty indicators. Each dimension is represented by two indicators, both carrying equal weight.

This means each dimension contributes 10% to the overall index, while each of the two indicators within that dimension accounts for 50% of it.
