Labour Maintains Lead in First Survey Since Alex Borg Became PN Leader

The Labour Party would still win a general election if it were held tomorrow, according to a new political survey held by statistician Vincent Marmara.

This is the first survey conducted since Alex Borg took over as leader of the Nationalist Party.

When asked directly how they would vote, 43.9% of respondents said they would choose Labour, while 37.0% backed the PN.

A further 2.2% supported ADPD, 1.0% other parties, and almost 16% said they were undecided.

To get a clearer picture, Marmara used a scientific method called the Multiple Imputation Technique to estimate how undecided voters might eventually cast their ballot.

Under this model, Labour would secure 51.7% of the vote compared to 43.2% for the PN, with ADPD at 3.5% and other parties at 1.6%.

That would leave Labour with a lead of around 25,000 votes, assuming valid votes currently stand at about 83%.

The survey, based on a sample of 1,200 people interviewed between 25 September and 1 October, carries a margin of error of ±2.8%.
