Labour Government Remains The Only Guarantee For Families, Robert Abela Says

Addressing a political event, Prime Minister Robert Abela said the Labour Government has kept its word.
The newly presented Budget includes the largest ever increase in social benefits (€120 million), the biggest tax cut in Malta’s history (€160 million), and a record 15% rise in stipends. Families will pay no tax on at least the first €1,000 of monthly income, while energy subsidies and other benefits will continue.
Pensioners will also see significant increases, with measures correcting historical injustices for those born before 1962. Abela highlighted that from next year, pensions will rise at more than double the cost-of-living adjustment.
“While the UK raises taxes to fund public services, in Malta we are reducing taxes and increasing pensions,” he said.
The Prime Minister added that the Government will continue investing in healthcare, education, and sports, citing projects such as the Ċensu Moran Regional Centre, the Sports and Aquatic Pavilion in Gozo, and the new Birkirkara Primary School.
Abela concluded that in his upcoming Parliamentary reply to the Opposition, he will demonstrate how the Labour Government continues to lead the country forward.
