La Valette Line Geological Studies Commence In Floriana

Transport Minister Chris Bonett announced that work has officially begun on excavation for geotechnical tests for what will be the La Valette Line in Floriana.
‘At this site, a number of samples are being taken from depths of up to 50 metres below street level. Rock and material are extracted and then analysed’, explained Bonett.
‘Further tests are also carried out to determine the level of moisture and the density of the material, as well as the strength and density of the rock.’
This forms part of the Malta in Motion transport plan, set to improve transport and make everyday travel easier.
