‘L-Aqwa 20 Tal-Maltin’ Concert To Celebrate Classic Maltese Songs

The Valletta Cultural Agency has announced L-Aqwa 20 tal-Maltin, a concert celebrating some of the most popular Maltese songs released between 1975 and 2005.

The public was invited to vote for their favourite tracks, all written and performed in Maltese, with the top 20 songs now selected for a live performance.

The concert will feature an orchestra led by Paul Abela and a wide lineup of established Maltese artists.

Performers include Sarah Bonnici, Daniel Cauchi, Mike Spiteri, Mary Rose Mallia, Brooke Borg, MARA, Fabrizio Faniello, Georgina Abela, Gillian Attard, Ludwig Galea, Mark Spiteri Lucas, Priscilla Psaila, Ivan Grech, Hermann Bonaci, Mary Spiteri, Ryan Hili, Olivia Lewis and Klinsmann Coleiro.

The event is intended to showcase the strength of Maltese language music and bring classic songs back to the stage through live orchestral arrangements.

It also offers audiences the chance to revisit well known hits that have shaped the local music scene over several decades.

L-Aqwa 20 tal-Maltin will take place on Saturday, 30 May 2026 at 20:30.
