“Konta S-Suldati Tal-Azzar Ma Jirbaħ Ħadd’ - Robert Abela

“Kontra s-suldati tal-azzar ma jirbaħ ħadd”, said Robert Abela during his speech on Friday evening to mark his 6 years in office. This was a dig by the Prime Minister at recent comments by Nationalist Party Leader Alex Borg, saying that this is the ‘sena tal-azzar’ (year of steel)’.
This came during a speech wherein he announced that the government is determined to reclaim Fort St Salvatur in Birgu and restore it for families.
Abela said that the Labour Party are not afraid to continue working and delivering, even when the ‘opposition’ came out with pots and pans in protest.
He said that 2026 is an important year as the government will start establishing the pediment for the future through the enactment of Envision 2050 project.
People became ‘sinjuri zgħar’ he said, as pensioners received more pension than they received in wages during their time on the work force, he said.

The Nationalist Party is in a worse financial state than 5 years ago, while the Labour Party is financially stable added the Prime Minister, while pointing out at all the incentives that the Labour in government gave, such as income tax cuts, increase in pensions and stipends, grants for first time buyers.
‘More is on the way as when you invest in people, that investment will give return to the country.’
He also referred to White Rocks, Manoel Island, Fort Campbell and Fort Tigné, which are set to be returned to the public thanks to a strong economy.
He announced that Malta’s deficit will fall below 3 percent well ahead of schedule, while stressing optimism in the economy, saying that the Pn are disheartening the public with their negative approach.
