Keeping An Eye Out For Breast Cancer: Signs And Awareness

October is widely recognised as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a period dedicated to raising awareness about one of the most common cancers worldwide.
Many organisations and individuals have joined the cause, including Saħħa, the Ministry for Health’s official Facebook page, which recently shared important guidance on recognising the signs of breast cancer. People are advised to be aware of symptoms such as a lump or thickening in the breast, which is often painless, changes in the size, shape, or appearance of the breast, dimpling, redness, or other changes to the skin, alterations in the nipple or areola, and abnormal or bloody discharge from the nipple.
Saħħa emphasises that early detection saves lives, urging everyone to check regularly and consult a doctor if any changes are noticed.
Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths, but regular self-examinations, awareness of symptoms, and timely medical advice can significantly improve outcomes.
Saħħa added, “check your breasts, if you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical care.”
