Opposition leader Alex Borg has outlined the Nationalist Party’s vision for Malta’s future, promising major investment in emerging industries, lower electricity prices and reforms aimed at easing pressure on residents.

Addressing supporters, Borg said a Nationalist government would continue investing in sectors ranging from artificial intelligence and data industries to Malta’s creative economy, describing innovation as key to the country’s long-term growth.

He also emphasised PN’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services, including plans for a national health village focused on prevention, rehabilitation and long-term care.

Borg pledged that electricity prices would decrease from 1st January 2027 through a €60 million investment in solar energy infrastructure across Malta.

“We need to do this because we are determined to remove the pressure off of you,” Borg said, adding that the PN wants “an economy that works and leaves more money in your pocket.”

The Opposition leader also addressed concerns surrounding population growth, stating that businesses are increasingly struggling to find local workers while residents face mounting pressures linked to infrastructure and public services.

Borg criticised Labour’s proposals on traffic and transport, arguing thatPN had presented more concrete solutions.

“You can see who is prepared, and who still isn’t prepared,” he said, while urging disillusioned Nationalist voters to regain confidence ahead of the election.

“In the coming days, keep encouraging those Nationalists who lost faith,” he emphasised, “We want to be the catalysts of change.”
