Kamp Ġustizzja Għal Artna Comes To An End: Campaign Continues

Moviment Graffitti announced yesterday evening that Kamp Ġustizzja għal Artna has come to an end after four days of activism, but emphasised that the wider campaign for environmental justice will continue.
The camp, which brought together activists, residents and supporters from across Malta, kicked off last Sunday ahead of the Budget 2026 announcement on Monday.
According to the group, thousands joined Monday’s protest to demand the withdrawal of what they described as destructive legislation designed to favour developers at the expense of citizens and the environment.
Moviment Graffitti noted the government’s stated commitment to revise the planning proposals and to consult civil society organisations before taking further parliamentary steps.
However, the group remains cautious, saying that the pressure now needs to translate into action by the government. Otherwise, Moviment Graffitti leader Andre Callus said, it would lead to a construction and planning disaster and would function as wishing list for contractors.
