Justice Minister Clifton Grima has welcomed the findings of the European Commission's latest Annual Rule of Law Report, saying it recognises the progress Malta has made in strengthening its justice system and public institutions.

In a statement shared on social media, Grima said the report acknowledges the reforms implemented by the government, as well as continued investment in the justice sector.

According to the minister, improvements in the digitalisation of judicial services and efforts to strengthen the fight against corruption have contributed to creating a more modern, efficient and accessible justice system.

Grima described these initiatives as concrete steps towards reinforcing the rule of law in Malta, adding that the European Commission's recognition serves as encouragement to continue building on the progress achieved so far.

He reaffirmed the government's commitment to further reforms, stating that work will continue with determination to strengthen the country's institutions while acting in the best interests of citizens and upholding the principles of the rule of law.
