Josie Vella Shares Final Birthday Wish From Late Son, Jake Vella

Josie Vella, father of the late Jake Vella, shared a heartfelt post on Facebook showing the last birthday wish his son sent him before passing away.

The beloved Jake Vella passed away on the 30th of August 2024 from a rare neurological condition known as Rapid-onset Obesity with Hypothalamic Dysfunction, Hypoventilation, and Autonomic Dysregulation (ROHHAD), at fifteen years old.

The teenage athlete was an inspiration to many.

He organised sports events to raise funds for a number of different causes.

He also worked with Lydia Abela Prime Minister’s wife, on a campaign called ‘Rigal Bi Mħabba B’Differenza’, urging visitors at hospital to donate towards abandoned animals.

Jake is mourned and remembered by many, especially his parents Josie and Mariska Vella.
