The Presidency of the Socialist International, led by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, has appointed John Grech, International Secretary of the Labour Party, as Chairman of the Mediterranean Committee of the Socialist International. This marks the first time that a Labour Party official has held this prestigious position.
In a related development, the Socialist International Council, with the participation of Prime Minister Sanchez, will convene in Malta for the first time towards the end of this year.
