John Cassar’s Social Media Tirade Hours Before Alleged Attack on Parents

John Cassar, 47, had been posting cryptic messages on social media in the days leading up to an alleged attack on his parents in Mqabba, with further posts reportedly shared while he was on the run.
His mother, Mary Grace Cassar, was allegedly killed, while his father, Ġanni Cassar, sustained grievous injuries in the incident.
Cassar reportedly shared messages referring to personal disputes and years of alleged suffering. In May, he also posted a photograph from his younger years featuring his mother.
His brother, Roderick Cassar, is serving a 40-year prison sentence after admitting to murdering his estranged wife, Bernice Cilia, in 2022.
Police investigations into the Mqabba incident are ongoing.
