Job Satisfaction Most Important Factor For Maltese Workers In 2026

According to the State of the Nation, work satisfaction was deemed the most important factor for Maltese workers in 2026.
On a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the most important priority and 5 being the least, job satisfaction ranked at 2.37, followed by income at 2.46.
Security and guarantee of employment placed third at 3.17, followed by appreciation on the workplace at 3.49 and finally, in last place, flexibility in hours at 3.51.
Satisfaction of work was also the most important in 2025, whereas income was more important in 2024.
This study consists of a sample of 1,064 people aged 16 and over. The sample was collected between the third week of June and the second week of July of this year.
