Head of Malta’s National Park at Ta’ Qali, Jason Micallef, has announced on Facebook that he will be taking legal action against podcaster Trudy Kerr and others, accusing them of spreading false information about the picnic area.

Kerr had claimed the space had turned into “just dust and gravel,” a statement Micallef described as “fake news” and a “malicious lie.”

Micallef, who also chairs the Valletta Cultural Agency, stressed that he would not remain silent in the face of such claims. “I will be pursuing legal action against those who created this fake news,” he wrote, adding that “enough is enough since this government is scared to confront bullies.”

He went on to condemn what he described as online bullying by individuals who use social media to profit.

“If you don’t play their game, your time is up and I will fight with all my strength,” he declared.

Micallef concluded by branding Kerr a “failed and phoney podcaster” and warning her, “see you in court.”
