Jake Vella’s Dad To Open 27-Hour Birżebbuġa Swimming Marathon

Josie Vella, father of the late Jake Vella, has confirmed that he will be opening the upcoming 27-hour swimming marathon in Birżebbuġa on 31st May in honour of his son.
Jake, like his father, had a deep passion for swimming and was known for taking on tough endurance challenges, including a 100km virtual swim in 2021 in aid of the Association for Abandoned Animals.
Organised by Birżebbuġa ASC, the marathon will support Caritas Malta, AMY, and vulnerable families in Birżebbuġa, and will feature appearances by several well-known Maltese personalities.
In a heartfelt Facebook video, Josie urged local athletes to book a lane and take part in the event, helping make a difference on 31st May.
