Institute Of Tourism Studies: Training Malta’s Future Tourism Leaders

Tourism is not a sideshow in Malta. It is one of the country’s main economic engines, bringing visitors, revenue and global visibility to an island that has spent decades building its reputation.
Behind that success are trained professionals managing hotels, organising events and steering the industry forward. Many of them begin their careers at the Institute of Tourism Studies.
Founded in 1987, ITS offers courses ranging from MQF Level 2 foundation programmes to MQF Level 7 Master’s degrees.
Students can specialise in tourism, hospitality, events, travel operations and related fields.
The institute’s reputation extends beyond its course list. It holds the International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education accreditation, a globally recognised quality mark.
ITS has also built partnerships with leading institutions such as Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and Institut Lyfe, giving students opportunities to study abroad through Erasmus and other exchanges.
Campuses in China further underline its international reach. ITS also supports those already in the industry through short professional courses.
Applications are now open for prospective students, from school-leavers to those seeking to advance their careers.
