Local

The Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) and KM Malta Airlines have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to launch new cabin crew training programmes, including a diploma, aimed at strengthening aviation education and workforce development in Malta.

The partnership establishes a three-phase plan linking academic study with industry practice. The first phase, effective immediately, will see the joint delivery of KM Malta Airlines’ short courses through its licensed Cabin Crew Training Organisation, including a Cabin Crew Attestation Course compliant with aviation regulations. Students will receive hands-on instruction in a professional aviation environment.

The second phase will focus on accrediting courses within the Malta and European Qualifications Frameworks, with ITS introducing academic modules to enhance industry relevance.

A Diploma in Aviation Hospitality Services is set for 2027–2028.

Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg said, “This agreement reflects the government’s commitment to continuously invest in our workforce, the most valuable asset of our tourism offering, by promoting tangible educational initiatives that meet the ever-changing needs of the industry.”

Further details on applications are expected in the coming weeks.
