Malta’s long, scorching summer has been laid bare in a series of striking statistics shared by local weather group “It-Temp Madwarna.”

The island has now gone 100 days without any recorded rainfall, with the last bout of rain falling around early May.

The heat has also been remarkably persistent, with temperatures exceeding 30°C every single day for the past 82 days.

Even more strikingly, five of those 82 days saw temperatures climb above 40°C, highlighting the intensity of what has been an exceptionally hot and dry summer.

The figures come as Malta continues to endure prolonged periods of high temperatures, with little respite from the summer heat and no rainfall recorded for more than three months.
