On Wednesday evening, Malta hosted one of the largest Isle of MTV concerts in the event's history. Minister for Tourism Jo Etienne Abela announced that approximately 40,000 people attended the event at Floriana's Fosos, who gathered to watch international headliners Katy Perry and Afrojack, alongside local talent including Aidan.

Behind the scenes, the entire production was supported by a fully independent temporary power solution, ensuring the event placed no additional demand on Malta's electrical grid.

The entire Isle of MTV Malta 2026 production was powered exclusively by temporary power infrastructure, guaranteeing a secure and resilient energy supply for all event operations.

A total of 12 Super Silent generators were deployed to provide 100% of the electrical power required throughout the event. The temporary generation network delivered stable, continuous power from installation through event completion, ensuring seamless operation of all production systems.

The use of temporary power systems is standard practice for major concerts, festivals, sporting events, television productions, and large public gatherings, both in Malta and internationally.

Dedicated generator-based power solutions provide a reliable and controlled electricity supply, allowing organisers to operate independently of the public grid while ensuring uninterrupted power for critical production equipment.

This approach not only enhances operational reliability but also helps reduce the impact on existing electrical infrastructure, particularly during periods of increased national energy demand.
