Irregular Immigrant Repatriated To His Country Of Origin

The Malta Police Force, along with the Returns Unit within the Ministry for Home Affairs, Security and Employment, repatriated an irregular immigrant who didn't qualify for protection in Malta.
The man arrived in the country back in 2023 where he reportedly did not comply with authorities on leaving the country, and also served a prison sentence related to escaping a detention centre.
This is the second forced return of an irregular immigrant this year, with a man previously being returned to north Africa, his country of origin, earlier in January.
