Investigation Into Conditions At Mediterraneo Marine Park

Parliamentary Secretary for Fishing, Aquaculture and Animal Rights Alicia Bugeja Said has confirmed that the government has commissioned an independent investigation into the conditions at Mediterraneo Marine Park following a series of recent reports about its dolphins.

She explained that the study will be carried out by international experts who will conduct a detailed assessment of the centre.

The evaluation will examine a wide range of factors, including the state of the facilities, as well as the care, health, and overall wellbeing of the dolphins housed at the park.

Once the analysis is complete, the experts will present a report containing their findings and recommendations. These will guide the next steps to ensure that the highest standards of animal welfare are applied.

Bugeja Said emphasised that she will be monitoring the investigation closely to guarantee that every animal is kept in proper conditions. She stressed that animal welfare remains a priority and that the government is committed to ensuring full compliance with international standards.
