Injured Hiker Rescued From Wied Babu After Search Operation

Civil Protection Malta conducted a search and rescue operation today in Wied Babu in search for an injured hiker.
Rescuers from Stations 1 and 8 conducted the search operation with the help of drones after a hiker in the area sustained a foot injury.
“Due to the challenging access to the area, evacuation by sea was considered the safest and most efficient option,” explained CPD.
The casualty was treated on site by a medical team from the Emergency Department of Mater Dei Hospital, transferred aboard the CPD vessel MANUĊĊA and handed over to the medical team for transportation to hospital,” they concluded.
The severity of the injury was not disclosed.
