Influenza Vaccine Supply For Malta Ensured Despite Global Provision Issues

In a video statement, Minister for Health and Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg announced that, despite fears of a global supply lack impacting Malta, the influenza vaccine for this winter season has been ensured.
Borg said that the company in charge of getting the vaccines to Malta informed him that the supply would not be making it in time and would have to wait until January of 2027. However, said Borg, within 24 hours, contact was made with neighbours Italy to ensure the supply.
Subsequently, the supply arrived in Malta in less than a week, earlier than what was expected. Now it will be turned over to medical experts to issue a rollout.
For the first time, work with local councils will also established to ensure a farther outreach for the vaccination rollout.
