Valletta is gearing up for the festive season with the launch of Christmas in the Capital 2025, a programme organised by the Valletta Cultural Agency that will bring holiday cheer to the city from 25 November to 31 December.
For over a month, the capital’s streets and squares will be alive with a joyful festive spirit, offering something for residents and visitors alike.
The programme promises a rich mix of beloved traditions and lively performances. Among the highlights is the traditional procession with Baby Jesus through Valletta’s historic streets, accompanied by a live choir. Music lovers can enjoy live concerts by Klinsmann, Kevin Paul, The New Victorians, and Riona, while families can delight in roaming performances by Tikka Banda and interactive activities for children.
Adding a classical touch, the prestigious Cappella Musicale Caeciliana Choir will perform at the Jesuit Church Oratory, enchanting audiences with a special choral presentation. The season will build to a grand finale with Valletta’s annual New Year’s Eve celebrations, cementing the city’s status as one of the most vibrant holiday destinations.
This year’s festivities kicked off with the highly anticipated lighting of the Munita Christmas Tree, attended by its creators Henry Galea, Jason Zerafa, and Ryan Pillow. The ceremony also saw the presence of Minister for Culture Owen Bonnici, Valletta Cultural Agency chairperson Jason Micallef, and Valletta Mayor Olaf McKay.
Supported by a significant €650,000 investment, this year’s celebrations aim to elevate Valletta’s Christmas experience, ensuring a magical and memorable season for everyone.
