In Photos: Turtles Released Back To The Sea After Rehabilitation

Pete Bullen took to social media to share some photos of a recent release of turtles into local waters after they underwent rehabilitation.
Despite there not being any turtle nests to protect, Bullen said, it was nice to catch up with other volunteers to return these gentle animals back into the sea.
It is likely that these are Tarvo and Red-X, two turtles who were rescued after being found entangled with debris. Tarvo was rescued in Ħondoq after ingesting fishing lines that were entangled around a garden chair.
Meanwhile, Red-X was rescued with a. Large entanglement at Little Armier in May of 2026 in rough conditions with the help of Malta Red Cross Lifeguards.
