H.E President Myriam Spiteri Debono paid tribute to the four victims of Sette Giugno during a ceremony in Valletta.

In 1919, riots broke out in our streets as Maltese people grew more frustrated with rising food prices, economic hardship and colonial governance.

Tensions escalated as British troops intervened, resulting in the deaths of four Maltese protesters; Manuel Attard, Ġużeppi Bajada, Wenzu Dyer and Carmelo Abela.

The president laid a wreath of flowers beside the monument commemorating the victims in St George’s Square, Valletta.
