In Malta, 3,798 People Report Experiencing Domestic Violence In 2024

According to the National Statistics Office (NSO), in 2024, a total of 3,798 individuals reported experiencing domestic violence or accessed related services. Of these, 76.0 per cent were female.

This means that out of every ten service users, eight are women.
In 2023, the number of people using domestic violence services by gender stood at 886 males and 2,707 females. In 2024, these figures increased slightly to 912 males and 2,886 females.

Additionally, 535 individuals made use of services aimed at perpetrators of domestic violence.

The NSO also provided details on the distribution of individual cases registered with the Malta Police Force and service providers, broken down by service type and age group of those experiencing domestic violence.
