According to Crimemalta Observatory’s ‘Annual Crime Review’ for 2025, Imdina registered the highest rate of residence thefts during 2025.

Despite no locality registering offence levels going over five times the national rate last year, Imdina, along with Munxar, Bormla, St Julian’s, and Santa Luċija fell within the two-to-five times national rate band.

Meanwhile, Floriana registered the highest RISC levels for vehicle related crime, specifically vehicle vandalism, break-ins, and theft.

(The studies take the form of a rate analysis, as against a count analysis, through the study of a RISC assessment (Relative Index of Spatial Crime), trend analysis and spatio-statistical analysis).

This was followed by Bormla, Imdina, Birgu, Marsa and Pieta.

Meanwhile, Bormla registered the highest rate of domestic violence in 2025, followed by Santa Luċija, Valletta, Isla and Marsa.

St Julian’s recorded a commercial activity-related offence rate exceeding five times the national average, followed by Gudja, San Lawrenz and Bormla.
