IFBB Highlights Malta’s Political Leaders’ Historic Link to Bodybuilding

The International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) has highlighted a remarkable and unprecedented fact: the leaders of Malta’s two major political parties both share a history of competition with the Maltese Federation affiliated to the IFBB.
Prime Minister and Labour Party leader, Robert Abela, competed in bodybuilding during the 1990s. Meanwhile, the newly appointed Leader of the Opposition and Nationalist Party leader, Alex Borg, took to the stage in 2018 in the Men’s Physique category.
The IFBB Malta Federation extended its best wishes to both leaders, commending their past dedication to the sport and wishing them success in their political journeys.
