If You're Alone Or In Need This Christmas, Caritas invites You To Their Annual Christmas Lunch

For anyone who’s alone or in need this Christmas, Caritas Malta is opening its doors for its annual Christmas lunch.
This will be the 10th edition of this lovely event. Last year, approximately 600 attendees joined together to celebrate Christmas over a hot meal.
Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi said that the Christmas lunch organised by Caritas “is a very beautiful indication of the efforts of the Church in Malta during the whole year, especially on Christmas Day, so no one feels alone.”
He thanked all the volunteers who help make this lunch possible as well as those who take care of distributing food directly to families in need throughout various parishes in Malta.
Anthony Galea, the Director of Caritas Malta, shared touching stories of people who come together for this lunch. He mentioned how attendee shared that “since my wife passed away I ended up eating toast on Christmas, praying that it passes as quickly as possible. When I joined with you guys I felt the love and joy that Christmas brings again.”
Mr Gatt thanked the task force that meets for several weeks to carry out the necessary preparations for this lunch. He went on to explain that this lunch would not be possible without the support of The Alfred Mizzi Foundation, who provide all the food; the President of Malta, through whose kitchen all the sweets distributed after the meal are prepared; and St Peter Foundation for their logistical support.
This year fresh vegetable soup is on the menu, followed by traditional stuffed turkey served with potatoes and veggies.
Anyone going through a time of solitude or who does not have the financial means to prepare a Christmas meal can join the lunchtime Christmas meal at the Archbishop’s Curia on the 25th of December by calling 79555915 or sending a message to info@caritasmalta.org or via the Caritas Malta Facebook page.
