Ian Borg Speaks On Parliament Chaos During PM Budget Speech

In a video shared to social media, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs & Tourism Ian Borg expressed his disbelief at what he saw during yesterday’s Prime Minister post-Budget speech.

During Robert Abela’s address, PN MP Paula Mifsud Bonnici stood in front of a TVM camera, blocking the view of the Prime Minister as his time expired.

Finance Shadow Minister Adrian Delia was also ordered out of parliament after a heated exchange during Abela’s speech.

In his video, Borg said that he was left in disbelief as he never saw anything like this. He said that after he shared a story to Instagram, he received many messages sympathising with the Labour Party and the government for the first time.

The heated exchange came a day after newly elected PN leader Alex Borg delivered his first official reaction to the Budget.

Parliament proceedings eventually resumed after Delia’s removal, as Prime Minister Abela completed his speech under heightened tension.
