Ian Borg Calls Israeli Escalations In Lebanon Deeply Concerning

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ian Borg has called the recent escalations in Lebanon ‘deeply concerning, particularly due to its severe impact on civilians, at a sensitive moment for regional de-escalation.’

‘We urge for the immediate cessation of hostilities to prevent further civilian harm and destabilisation. We reaffirm our solidarity with the Lebanese Government and support ongoing efforts to uphold the country’s sovereignty, including the full and effective disarmament of Hezbollah.’

This comes as a ceasefire is struck between Iran, the US and Israel, but the latter is continuing its military activities in Lebanon.

Latest strikes have killed more people in Southern Lebanon a day after 200 people were killed, posing a potential risk to the fragile US-Iran ceasefire.
