“I Support What People Decide Via Referendum”, Says Alex Borg On Euthanasia
Local

Speaking during a debate on XTRA on TVM, Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg said that if the people decide via referendum in favour of euthanasia, then he would support that decision.

This follows the Labour Party promising a referendum about voluntary assisted euthanasia if elected into government.

The proposal was announced as part of Labour’s electoral manifesto, which was presented and approved on the 15th of May ahead of the next general election taking place on the 30th May.

The Nationalist Party had informed the Life Network Foundation Malta that it has no mandate to introduce either abortion or euthanasia.

However, Borg said that if the people vote positively in a referendum, then he is there to represent the people.
